Budget markers

Your budget should not be a mystery.

Every company is different, but you should be able to place yourself before you even write to us. Here are the orders of magnitude for our most common engagements. Scope and price are settled before the work starts.

Budget markers

  • Starting point

    The simplest place to start

    Indicative budget

    $2,500 to $4,000

    Typical timeline · 1 to 2 weeks

A first automation on a real process in your company.

    For example

Incoming email, PDF forms, repetitive data entry, handoff to your CRM, document generation or notifications. One specific manual task, handled end to end.

  • Process automation

    Indicative budget

    $4,000 to $9,000

    Typical timeline · 2 to 4 weeks

A complete process reworked from one end to the other.

    For example

Several chained steps, integrations between the tools you already use, human approvals where they matter, and documents produced automatically.

  • AI assistant or internal tool

    Indicative budget

    $9,000 to $18,000

    Typical timeline · 3 to 6 weeks

A tool your teams open every day.

    For example

Search across your internal documents, a team portal, role-based access, and a record of what the tool answers so it can be corrected.

    Discuss an internal tool
  • Custom solution

    Indicative budget

    $18,000 to $35,000 and up

    Typical timeline · 5 to 10 weeks

A business application built around how you actually work.

    For example

Several kinds of users, integrations with your existing systems, the infrastructure that runs it, and the documentation your teams need to take it over.

    Discuss a custom project

If this first engagement leads to something larger, the work carries over into the rest of the project. You do not start from scratch.

Prices in Canadian dollars, before applicable taxes. No budget overrun without your approval.

Markers, not a rate card

Why ranges rather than a price.

Two companies describing the same need rarely have the same project. The number of tools to connect, the state of the data and the number of people who will need to approve change the work far more than the technology does.

These ranges cover our most common engagements. They are there to help you place yourself, not to price your project.

When a need exceeds the available budget, we do not cut quality and we do not stretch the scope. We deliver a self-contained piece first, useful on its own, that can be carried into the rest of the project.

The price does not change, the scope does. After a short scoping conversation, you get a firm price and a written scope before the engagement begins.

Before you choose

The questions you should be asking us.

They apply to us as much as to any supplier. If an answer stays vague elsewhere, that is a signal.

  • Who owns my data and my accounts?

    Ownership

You do. Accounts are opened in your name, and your data stays with you or with the host you chose.

  • Will there be monthly fees?

    Recurring costs

Hosting, API and licence costs are quantified before the start and billed by their own provider. Optigm support is one-time or recurring, whichever you prefer.

  • What happens if I switch suppliers?

    Reversibility

The engagement covers the documentation, access and configuration someone else needs to take the system over. Ownership and reuse terms for the code are written into the contract, before the work starts.

  • Is my data sent to an AI?

    Where data travels

It depends on the solution, and some send nothing at all. What leaves your systems, which service receives it and for how long is documented and confirmed with you before it goes live.

Recognize your project in one of these?

Describe your situation in a few lines. We will tell you which range it falls into, or say plainly that it does not.
